It's been quite a while since we posted anything in this blog. Almost like a month. It was a really busy month for all us here, with school holidays and all. Yeah it has been very busy. But we can't let you wait too long for a post from us. Hate to keep you guys waiting. So now we're back again. And today we want to touch a subject on "self-drive car rental service in Tawau". There is a reason why we chose this title. Nothing to do with SEO or anything like that.  It's just something that we think you should know and think about.

You  all know that we provide car rental service in Tawau. The word "car rental service in Tawau" clearly stated that we provide these services in TAWAU and not in Kota Kinabalu or in Sandakan or in Keningau. Since we started our car rental service there were many people who had rented our cars  and drove it up to Keningau and the farthest to Kudat. Did we allow this?

You may notice, many car rental companies does not allow their customer to drive their rented cars outside the region. For example, a car rental company in Kota Kinabalu will definitely do not want their customers to rent their car and drive the car all the way to Tawau. And not only in Sabah you will see this. In Sarawak also the car rental company will not allow such thing. And we believe other car rental company nationwide will not allow their cars to be taken out of the area.

Initially when we just started the car rental business, we do not even care if our car is to be brought to any place and location anywhere Sabah, as long as you promise to take a good care of the car, we are okay with it. No problemo. But you know, as times pass us by, we suddenly realize through experience that our decision to let the renters drove the car hundreds of miles away from Tawau is not a wise decision. It was the worst decision and it back-fired.

Imagine this, once we got a call from Keningau asking us to send a replacement car. We rented a car to someone and according to him, when he reached Keningau, the car engine suddenly died and would not start. Imagine our feelings, Keningau is so far away, more than 500km from Tawau. But we try to find the nearest service station and call for help from a mechanic there to go and have a look at our car. Apparently the car won't start because it is over-heated. The poor car has been driven non-stop from Kalabakan-Semporna-Tawau-Lahad Datu-Sandakan-Ranau-Telupid-Kota Kinabalu-Keningau. And that car is not even a 4wd, it is just a Perodua kancil for God's sake. We thought, why in the world this person drove a kancil from Tawau to Keningau. The best part is, the renter had the nerve to yell and get angry at us. Honestly, we are the one who should be angry, don't you think?

Apart from that, there are also those who simply careless when driving, they will drive as fast as they could and even don't mind hitting a pot-holes here and there. To tell you the truth,  if you drive carelessly, hitting pot-holes because you don't care and on top of it, drive non-stop for hundreds of miles, even a Lamborghini will not withstand it. Learning from that experience, now we only provide a self-drive rental car for Tawau only. If you go to Semporna or Lahad Datu it is still acceptable, but on conditions. You are 100% responsible for the car. And if we find our car being driven exceeding the permitted zone (out of Lahad Datu), we will impose penalties on you, RM2 per kilometer of the exceeding kilometer.

So we hope you all understand why we do what we do. We learn a lot from experience. And the experience had taught us that it is not a good decision after all to allow the renters to drive our rental car long distance. We have learned and we do not encourage it. If the rent is only around Tawau, we are more that happy to accommodate you. After all, if there is something happening we are able to help you as soon as possible. Good for you, and good for us. Why J3 Tawau Car Rental have to charge RM 30 for airport

Why J3 Tawau Car Rental have to charge RM 30 for airport pick-up/drop-off service? Before answering this question, please look at the printscreen above. If it's not clear, click on it for clearer view. It is clearly stated there that Tawau airport is located 31 kilometers from town. For the record, 31 Kilometers is not a short distance. To get there will take at least 30 minutes. That is the main factor why J3 Tawau Car Rental need to charge RM30 for the airport service. Perhaps some will argue, why other car rental provider in Tawau don't charge for airport service. Okey, for quick info, the airport charge may already included in their total rent. Take Proton Saga BLM for example, in Car rental X, if you rent Saga BLM for 3 days, the amount of rent is RM150x3 = RM450. If you rent the car from us in J3 Tawau car Rental, Proton Saga BLM only cost RM90 per day (if you rent for 3 days and above). So if 3 days, the amount will be RM90x3 = RM270. Added the airport charge of RM30, the total amount is only RM300. Can you see that difference?

So we really hope that you will understand why we have to impose the airport charge. At least we were able to cover the petrol cost (to and fro) for sending the car to you to Tawau airport which is some 31 kilometers away. Our rental rate is already the cheapest in town, if we had to bear the cost for sending and driving the car back from airport, sooner or later we will be out of the business. But we know many of our customers were very understanding regarding this matter because they had already make a survey of car rental rate in Tawau before booking a car with us. Many thanks to them. Kereta Sewa Tawau J3 Temporary Line

Dear all, we have an important announcement to make. Starting from 9.30 pm today, Kereta Sewa Tawau J3 temporary line is 013-5499-359. For your information, our phone was stolen this morning. A police report has been made at Tawau police station. We have also contacted our service provider to block our official phone number 014-9669-359 temporarily. This is to prevent the thieves who took our phone from abusing our company phone number.

If you have already book a car with us, please contact us at our temporary number 013-5499-359 for smooth delivery. We apologize for not having a back-up for our customers phone number. It was our mistake. So we really hope that whoever that have made a booking with us to contact us immediately at 013-5499-359. For those who want to book a rental car, you may also contact us at 013-5499-359 to place your bookings.

We will inform you immediately if the service provider have replaced our simcard and re-activate our official line at 014-9669-359. No more more monthly car rental services

For your information, starting from 24 April 2015 there will be no more monthly rental car services from Kereta Sewa Tawau J3. This decision was taken after considering the pros and cons of this service for us as a provider of the rental car service. For the record, there were so many people who rent car by monthly with us since the day we start the car rental business. Our intention is to help those who really need a car for a long time at a very low rate.

But sadly, many of these monthly renters have handled our car in a very bad manner. When returned, the car was in a terrible state. Scratches, bent rim's, broken bumper etc is among the conditions that we seen from these cars. The saddes part was, the renters didn't even care to pay the damages cost to us. Most of the time, the cost to fix the damage is in excess of the rental rates given. We are in a position where we can't break even. We keep losing money because of this. Our intention is to help these people who need car for a long term, but we are taken advantage of.

Thus, starting from today, we will not provide car rental services on a monthly basis again. If there are customers who want to rent for a long time, every week, the car must be sent to us for inspection and also rental rate will be calculated at the rate of more than seven days. Although the rate is calculated at the rate of 7 days onwards, do not worry, our rates remain the lowest in Tawau. We hope all of you can understand our situation. Summon Info by Kereta Sewa Tawau J3

Hello, school holiday is over. Hope you all have fun during the holiday. Today all of us Kereta Sewa Tawau J3 @ Tawau Car Rental  wants to share an info about and PDRM summons and compound charges. For the record, the Malaysian government has standardize and streamline the payment system by PDRM & JPJ summons based on the principle of 'The More You Delay', 'The More You Pay. The harmonization mechanism of this summons and compounds are as follows and have already take effect since July 1, 2013.
